Meet the guests
-
The Best Man
Early morning-rising guitar hero; all round legend.
He’s the son, step-son, step-brother, cousin and best mate you wish you had. Charming, funny, somewhat aloof, and absolutely at ease with himself. Place good money on his speech making Em cry more than once.
-
The Bridesmaids
Long-suffering ‘Therapy’ tribe. And work wife, Natty.
The largely Isle of Wight based group will be dressed handsomely in green. Or is it champagne? Or maybe blush pink? They have done well to smile through Em’s painful and exhausting wedding planning. Bless ‘em.
-
The Maids of Honour
Em’s princesses, the impressionable, pouting ‘Pinks’.
Pheebs and Tills will be found mainly on the dancefloor, giggling, cutting shapes, posing for the TikTok masses, moaning about the lack of “chart music” and generally looking gorgeous.
-
Sammy P
Fitness guru, ice-bath obsessive, all-round beast.
Sam is our PT. He’s the reason Em will look so hot on her wedding day. Tom has barely spoken two words to the man due to not being able to catch his breath. Chat to him about burpees, step ups and star jumps.
-
Auntie Mandy
Wingham’s greatest floral designer.
Not only is Auntie Mandy a standout relative – “one of the best Auntie’s out there,” says Em – she’s also the wedding’s lynchpin aesthete. Seek her out for tips and advice on floristry. And being an amazing Auntie.
-
The 'Rents
Glorious givers of life.
Seek out the only guest in shorts (Pete) for shooting, beer and tank talk. Chat to the Bee Gee lookalike (Geoff) about how he almost made it at Chelsea. If you want to speak to the two glamour girls, Di and Sue, get in early; they’ll both be drunk by about 2.40pm.
-
The Stags
Lads, lads, lads. Vegas-bound lads.
Jasp, Fras, Stu, Penk, Ry, James, Bucky, Pete, Geoff and Uncle Vlad are off to Sin City. Seek them out for tales full of witty repartee. Stu will be the one in salmon-coloured slacks.
